Time to get in shape – 60% of latinos are overweight

Little overweight? Out of shape? Don’t feel good?

Completely normal. Most Americans, myself included are suffering from at least one of the three above, or had at point.

I’m chubby, and that’s being generous. A few more pounds I would probably be obese! I don’t feel that big when I walk around the streets; that’s only because everyone else is big..latino obesity

I recently went to a conference to Singapore. Walking around the streets it dawned on me. I’m not just overweight, I’m really overweight. Compared to the local Singaporean people I was a giant, a tubby giant at that. Being in America and a particularly overweight part of America I’ve gotten accustomed to seeing big people. A little too much it seems. Astonishingly over 60% of Latinos are overweight. Diabetes and related issues are killing and hurting thousands of Latinos, and isn’t something people are talking about. They should be!

It took traveling to another country (skinny country) for me to realize that I’m part of the problem, but I also want to be part of the solution.

I googled tons of weight loss and nutrition websites and found a lot of great ones. I started working out and in 5 weeks so far have lost 7 pounds. Not a lot, but progress is progress.

Here’s my daily routine

  • Wake up eat bowl of oats + banana
  • Take my pre work out drink – Check it out at B Nox Review
  • Hit the gym for 1 hour
  • Take creatine + protein powder after gym
  • Work
  • Lunch – Chicken breast + veggies
  • Work
  • Go home and do some stretches
  • Eat dinner – Large portion of non fried meat ( Turkey/ pork/ beef) + veggies
  • Relax
  • Some fruits or vegetables

The routine above has worked well for me. I tried going to the gym after work but always had excuses to miss it. Now I go in the morning and haven’t missed a training in 3 weeks. Getting started is the hardest part, but once you start it becomes easier. Just started doing something.
